Area Information
The Lehigh Valley is richly embedded
in our nation’s history. Once a principle gateway to the west, our
canals moved coal and people to fill an ever-growing frontier.
Later, Bethlehem became the second-largest producer of steel in the
world, helping build an industrialized nation. Silk, other fabrics,
and clothing were manufactured here. Mack trucks, long a symbol of
the strength of a nation, are still made here. Binney & Smith’s
Crayola crayons color the world.
Lehigh Valley public and private schools are among the best in the
nation; with more than two-thirds of their graduates continuing
their education. Community colleges offer varied programs, specialty
centers offer vocational and technical career training, and our
colleges and universities are nationally ranked.
The Lehigh Valley’s 750,000 residents comprise city, suburban, and
country living. A diversity of home styles, including townhouses,
singles, and duplexes offer the home buyer a full range of choices.
